Choose a Non-Breakaway buckle if you have a puppy, small dog, or cat that doesn't walk on the street by itself. If you have a cat that walks down the street, then for safety reasons, choose a buckle -Breakaway. This is a buckle that will open itself if the cat catches on a branch.
